About Me
Gonzalo is a composer/lyricist, music director, physicist, actor, and educator who immigrated from Chile at the age of 8. For the last two decades he has had the privilege of working with many organizations, schools, theaters, and venues in bringing high quality music and art to audiences and communities all around the NJ/NYC area.
As a composer/lyricist, he wrote original music for two shows produced by NJIT/Rutgers Theatre Department: TWELFTH NIGHT and HELL HATH NO FURY: A RAP AND ROLL STORY. For the last 10 years he has been collaborating with Michael Campbell on several original musical projects. In that time they have had their material showcased in the form of readings, concerts, workshops, and full productions at MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY, BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 4TH WALL THEATRE, PLEASANT VALLEY PRODUCTIONS, DON’T TELL MAMA NYC, & 54 BELOW.

As an actor, some of his favorite moments involved leading roles in TICK, TICK... BOOM! (Jon), IN THE HEIGHTS (Usnavi), SWEENEY TODD (Sweeney), and AVENUE Q (Nicky).
As a music director, he has spent the last decade being professionally contracted all around the NJ/NY area. Some highlights include PARADE, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, CABARET, RENT, IN THE HEIGHTS, DREAMGIRLS, GYPSY, and A CHORUS LINE!
As a physicist, he worked as an AP Physics teacher in an inner city public school district for over a decade. He taught and inspired thousands of young humans to hone their scientific skills while also reminding them of the importance to stay in tune with their inner creative voice.
Currently, Gonzalo lives with his wonderful wife Danielle in NJ. He is committed to playing music, creating original and exciting art, and working to teach and inspire future generations to do the same.
